“We Support Our Schools” June 2023
Sarah Daman is the recipient of the “We Support Our Schools” grant, sponsored by A2Z Personnel and The Drive 107.9, for the month of June.
Sarah teaches Science at the Stevensville Middle School. Students in Sarah’s class and Ms. Whitehead, the other science teacher’s class, conducted a mini–Science Fair on May 26th. The grant will go towards presentation materials including trifolds and supplies used perform the experiments.
Small groups of students chose ideas for their experiments and conducted tests to extract the outcomes. The ideas varied from the most common color in a bag of Skittles, to how quickly bread molds, variations in eyes when someone is lying, conductivity of electricity, how long it takes to magnetize items and the fastest way to get water out of a bottle. Students are being creative and inquisitive in the exploration of the world they see. These minds might be sparked to become important scientists, making life changing discoveries in their near future.
