Responsibilities:

  • Assist the client with personal hygiene tasks, including showers, bed baths, hair care, and skincare.
  • Support the client in getting in and out of bed safely, utilizing mechanical lifting equipment upon completion of training.
  • Aid the client with mobility equipment such as wheelchairs, lifts, and shower chairs.
  • Perform household chores including laundry, changing bed linens, washing dishes, and general cleaning.
  • Maintain a safe environment by adhering to proper lifting techniques, using assistive equipment correctly, and exercising caution on wet floors and during client transfers.
  • Communicate effectively with the client and coordinate with the other PCA to ensure consistent care.

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. regularly (e.g., lifting legs, baskets of wet towels).
  • Physical capability to frequently bend, squat, stand, and lift.
  • Willingness to learn and correctly use mechanical lifting and mobility equipment.
  • Prior experience as a PCA or in a similar caregiving role is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to safety, following all training and protocols.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling needs.
  • Compassionate and respectful approach to client care.

Job Type: Part-time, flexible schedule (mornings)
