Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities
Respond to incoming calls and emails from clients regarding their health insurance plans, coverage options, claims, and billing questions.
Assist clients in navigating insurance processes, including provider selection, benefits usage, and plan education.
Advocate on behalf of clients by contacting insurance carriers and provider offices to resolve service issues and claim discrepancies.
Document all client interactions in CRM systems with accuracy and attention to detail.
Educate clients about their plan options and guide them through enrollment or renewal processes.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of plan guidelines, healthcare regulations, and industry changes.
Provide support to internal teams and agents with customer inquiries and plan-related questions.
Assist in preparing materials and client communications as needed.
Support the team during Open Enrollment season by handling higher volumes and extended hours.
Provide ongoing support for seminars, agents, and other office personnel.
Ability and willingness to engage in community/networking opportunities outside of normal business hours.
Promote teamwork by sharing experiences, assisting others when help is needed, and maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
Willing and able to work additional hours as needed during the Open Enrollment Period (Oct – Dec each year).
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of customer service experience, preferably in health insurance, medical office, or related field.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Empathetic, patient, and professional with all types of customers.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable with client management systems (CRM).
Ability to learn and retain complex information quickly.
Must be able to pass and maintain applicable insurance licensure (Health and Exchange Producer License; training provided if needed).
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education a plus.
Background check required upon offer of employment.
