A2Z Personnel, along with 107.9 The Drive, is proud to present Alicia McEwen with a check for $200 as February’s winner of the We Support Our Schools grant program. Alicia teaches 1st grade at Corvallis Elementary and has an engaging classroom to encourage her student’s participation. As her first graders transition frequently through out the day from desk work to floor time, her goal is to purchase plastic scoop chairs for the time spent on the floor. The scoop chair allows the student to gently rock in one place while engaging in the class activity. It helps the students stay in their personal space while allowing them to shift and have some movement. Teachers, both locally and nationally, have found these chairs to bring a bit of structure to a space that can be a struggle for some children and Alicia is excited to provide her classroom with this added tool.
