Perform a variety of quality assurance inspections, testing and analysis to assure that all items, incoming items and goods items meet or exceed established specifications.
o Condition of employment requires knowledge and conformance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) as applicable to the position. o Sample incoming items using statistical methodology. Technician will be exposed to dusty conditions during sampling. o Inspect and test samples for Key Control Characteristics as listed in the product specification. o Collect, log, and distribute samples and proper documentation for other laboratory testing as well as customer requests. o Collect and maintain retention samples o Enter all test results into data base program. o Perform necessary inventory movement transactions and label product with release tags upon approval of product. o Sample, test, and complete documentation for in-process blends. 0 Maintain visual standards. In Process o Inspects quality at all stages of production. o Maintains non-conforming material process. o Ensures the calibration and proper functioning of all gauge equipment. o Performs Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis. o Perform internal audits to ensure compliance at each area of operations. Finished Goods o Sample Finished Goods using statistical methodology. o Inspect and test samples for Key Control Characteristics as listed in the product specification. o Collect, log, and distribute samples and proper documentation for other laboratory testing as well as customer requests. o Collect and maintain retention samples o Enter all test results into data base program. o Perform necessary inventory movement transactions and label product with release tags upon approval of product. o Maintain visual standards. o Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis.
Keep the Quality Control Supervisor informed as to the status of all products and testing. • Keep current with regulatory changes affecting quality control testing in the dietary supplement and pharmaceutical industries. • High School Diploma • 3 years’ experience in Quality Assurance/Control • Prefer four years’ college education • Experience with computer (Statistical Software, Access and MAPICS software program experience preferred) • Strong planning and organizational skills • Very detail oriented • Good interpersonal skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Good follow-up skills • Strong math skills • Able to work independently and exercise good judgment • Must be self motivated • Visual Acuity mandatory (ability to visually identify color variations and capsule I tablet irregularities)
• Required to stand for long periods of lime • May involve some repetitive motions • Must be able to lift 50 pounds minimum -more than 50 pounds requires a team lift • May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers • Due to the nature of the production environment, must be able to work in a variety of temperature conditions.
Working Conditions • Must be able to work in a fast-paced light manufacturing environment. • PPE requirements: safety glasses, respiratory protection, company supplied lab coats, Tyvek suits, and gloves • GMP gowning requirements: Hair net, beard guard (if applicable), shoe covers, and sweatbands as required
