General Job Tasks & Duties:

  • Collecting and processing blood, feces, urine, throat swabs, and nares swabs samples from patients with care and professionalism.
  • Activating orders, running, and resulting CLIA Waived POC tests.
  • Utilizing Cerner for laboratory orders, results, and messaging.
  • Maintaining eyewash station, temperature logs, and laboratory test logs with timeliness and accuracy.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all samples collected.
  • Ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality during procedures.
  • Providing excellent patient care and addressing any concerns or questions.
  • Following safety and infection control protocols at all times.
  • Collaborating with healthcare team members to improve patient experiences.
  • All other job duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Certification in phlebotomy is required.
  • Previous experience as a phlebotomist in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain blood using vacutainer and butterfly needles.
  • Background check required upon offer of employment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards in medical environments.
  • Compassionate demeanor and passion for patient care.
