General Job Tasks & Duties:

  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist as needed.
  • Take and record patient vital signs and medical history.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for testing.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and files in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide patient services under the supervision of a medical provider, according to established protocols.
  • All other job duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Graduate from medical assistant training program; certification is preferred.
  • One year experience in a medical facility is preferred.
  • Complete and pass the annual competency assessments including age-specific criteria and maintain required continued education units (CEUs).
  • Background check and drug screen required upon offer of employment.
  • Capacity for planning and organizing, prioritizing, and planning work activities and using time efficiently.
  • Display appropriate interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and co-workers.
  • Capability to handle confidential information and materials appropriately.
  • Exhibit an immense level of ethics, treating people with respect, inspiring the trust of others, and working with integrity and principles.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures, complete administrative tasks correctly and on time, and support organizational goals and values.
  • Display a high level of professionalism, approaching others in a tactful manner, reacting well under pressure, and always treating others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.
  • Provide a high quality of work, demonstrating accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness.
